Come on lads build me one of these.
If you read the article carefully, you will see that the X-ray scanning does not take place while the items are in the ground. The coins shown were buried inside an already excavated artifact.

I thought it was a bit odd that X-rays would be used out in the field. It sounded a dangerous pastime to me.

Maybe it would become safe if someone would sell us those safe Xray LEDs

It's a ridiculous idea! x-ray equipment can not display the bottom of the soil.
