Default Movies

Ok, I'll kick it off since I recently saw movie with metal detectors.

Fools Gold, with Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson.

Looked like some underwater pulse detectors and some cheap Radio Shack VLF detectors on the sand.

A decent farce.

(don't know where this belongs, feel free to move Carl.)

This could be fun, but it doesn't belong in the Tech Forum.
This is its new home.

I founded it!!!
"King of California" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388182/
Michael Douglas in one scene hold Minelab Excalibur, showing to his daughter and says " ...meet the Excalibur!.."
Next scene; he presents and explains to her, basic Excalibur behavior..and next thing - he detected and dug old spanish gold coin - dublon! Wow!

I analyzed that scene few times...hmmmm...it was Excalibur on scene...but sound was more like from GP 3500!!! Ha,ha,ha! Do watch that part and tell me what do you think!?

Just read this short comment:
"..An unstable dad who after getting out of a mental institution tries to convince his daughter that there's Spanish gold buried somewhere under suburbia..."
Ha,ha,ha!!! I am affraid most of us will face same destiny...sooner or later! ("mental institution" part!!) Boooahahahahahaha!

BONANZA - "The Gold Detector"

Sinopsis:
Ever the champion of the underdog, Hoss Cartwright is determined to prove that the gold mine owned by his friend McNulty (Wally Cox) is not as worthless as everyone claims. To this end, Hoss is gulled into purchasing a "gold detector"-which, amazingly, actually seems to work! A gang of impressionable crooks decides to steal the detector, leading to complications both amusing and adventuresome. The supporting cast includes such TV-western stalwarts as Paul Fix, Dub Taylor and Chubby Johnson. Originally telecast on December 24, 1967, "The Gold Detector" was written by Ward Hawkins. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

I watched Kangaroo Jack last night, and there's a Whites detector near the start.

Here's one of the funniest parts of the film -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkQ5LNa8pSg

Spotted another one recently in Highlander, but could not identify the make.

But - there is a glaring error:
Brenda uses a metal detector to find particles of sword in reinforced concrete. This cannot work as the signal from the metal in the reinforcement bars would swamp the signal generated by the sword particles.
