Default Sensing magnetic fields

Many years ago, when I was looking for sunken shipwrecks in the Bahamas, we had some unexplained problems with the magnetometer.

The magnetometer would signal an anomaly. By the amplitude and the diameter of the anomaly we could predict quite well what kind of target we would find after digging. Cast iron cannon, old anchors, modern steel trash etc.

However, many times we would dig down to bedrock and find nothing. The bedrock was flat limestone.
If we ran the magnetometer across the exposed bedrock, the magnetic anomaly would still be there, but no target to explain its existence.

Once there was a large, about 100 ft across, dark discolored patch at the place of the magnetic anomaly.
We speculated about the possibility of it being a large meteorite that was embedded in the bedrock millions of years ago.
The magnetic anomaly suggested a mass of several tons of iron. Something large for sure.

Then, somebody came up with the notion it could be "The Portals To Atlantis". We all laughed, but in fact, not too far away from this site is this place that they call "The Atlantis Causeway".

A third strange spot, about equidistant from the two first named, so as to form a triangle, is a place that is called "The Fountain of Youth". It is a fresh water well that comes out of the bottom of the sea. It was discovered by Ponce de Leon in 1509 or thereabout.

We took some water samples and had them analyzed. The only remarkable difference was the high lithium content.

I wonder if a LRL reading of the 3 areas would give additional information?

Or any explanation?

Oh, by the way, David Copperfield has recently bought the "Fountain of Youth" and the surrounding area.
