The center coin is a fake Mercury dime, date is 1942 as far as I can tell. It appears to be a casting, probably made of pot metal. Even has the reeded edges. Size is too big, though. I have no idea why someone would want to make a fake Merc, unless it was a rare date (1916D). Maybe this was supposed to be a 1942/1 variety, but I can't tell. I've had this for decades, can't remember now where I got it from.
