That's a ground resistivity unit. I don't kniw much about them. I do like GDI-Detectors.com I've heard it is a lot of work to pound the ground stakes.

Geotech1.com has a main forum page. This is not it. There might be some info there and more likely people who are familiar with the ground resistivity. Click on "forums" then "Geophysics"

This direction of search is very expensive. To drive copper electrodes about 3 meters at least 50 pcs. How to do it, for example, in mountainous or rocky terrain? Then you need to measure the specific resistance between each driven electrode, then the outermost ones. Then calculate the average value. In general, a quiet horror. This method is practiced by archaeologists and then for first-year students. After such procedures, 30 percent of students are immediately eliminated. Without waving a sledgehammer. Yes, the most accurate calculations are with copper electrodes, and they are very expensive. Imagine how much work, to drive, then take out. Again on the supposed site, do this procedure and compare. It is better then to learn to work with simple frames. Although it is up to you to decide.
