In SPECIFIC video it looks, that the beeper sounds targeting to a point of soil and upper is ... silence.
So it is not the North.
To my 7 diy different ( frequencies, coils, loops ...) pd-pdk-pdm-pdG-MFD... with one word ... ALONSO LRL's the North (AND South) is clear (horizontal 10-20 degrees) and is not acting like the video we see (up stop, down beeping).

Also I would attend classes to loosen my fingers (1 hour y.t. magician fingers practise) so you can not understand the most whining and the instability I would have if I left the switch at 1.36 (North you say) and the unbalance 2sec (very big time FOR ME to avoid errors) giving press to MY other fingers (except secret switch) in 1.39 (walking out MY fingers - ON TARGET- NO BEEPS) to switch off MY LRL ......

I haven't seen that in this video.
