No, it has one oscillator only and no mixer stage (BFO's should have two + mixer).
It is marked as TR, but has nothing to do with known TR/IB design. Could be named as "floating Q" design.

You can try with some other (audio) N-channel MOS FET like: BD512, IRFP240, IRF510, 2SK2221, IRF540, IRFP260, IRFP450, IRF840 ....
