This circuit is an ultrasonic transmitter ؟؟؟؟
There is only useful for measuring distances

??? is right! Not likely that the crystal oscillator circuit will oscillate, although with the complex impedances that the crystal presents, the possibility of oscillation at some frequency can't be completely ruled out. The final amp transistor is dead since it has no bias. The funny thing is that it's for an LRL; therefore the circuit doesn't have to actually do anything at all, other than to inspire imagination on the part of the victim of the fraud. A circuit far simpler than this one could have been a real transmitter. But for an LRL, that doesn't matter other than for production of sondes for fraudulent demos such as Mineoro does. And the Mineoro sondes, although they work well enough to commit the intended demo fraud, are very amateurish designs, a smart high school kid should be able to do better. From another perspective: this is a low power drain circuit, so the batteries should last a long time; however better to put good batteries into something that works and save the dead batteries for use in this. --Dave J.
