Default Detect marine terraces with erdas imagine

I would like to identify marine terraces in Aster and Landsat images. I also hold the Aster DEMs. Which characteristics or ways can help me identify them in the satellite images? Any help is welcome. Thank you a lot.

There is a Landsat photo of the Pleistocene Sea Advance on page iv in the book "Georgia's Hidden Gold", by W.Larry Otwell, that shows a good example of what you are looking for. It is 50/50 easy or not to recognize the feature, according to your having trained your eye....Something you will do by scanning these type shots. By the way, this book is TOPS for the kind of info you are looking for in your interrest in this feature of the landscape! Happy Hunting!!
