Get a long piece of ferrite rod (2-3 feet or 1 Meter) and wrap it with fine wire about 250,000 turns.

Maybe you can find something to get your research started. They got vlf you might be able to find something. Also I think there is a yahoo group Loop Antennas

I use the double wound ferrite without shield. You will need about twice as many windings on each side to get the inductance right. So if you need 100 windings on single, then the double will require 200 on each side, or 400 total.

Don't have a clue if this would work for other locators. Eventually i plan to build a ToTeM receiver and try it out. But don't feel like gambling right now LOL.

Yeah, it would be nice if you at least reply but i guess that is asking too much.

I tried several loop type antennae and not excited about them at all. Powerful, yes, but too much garbage. But then again, I ain't no electronics genius. maybe some sort of active filter would help to clean things up, I don't know, never tried. Everybody uses ferrite rod. Maybe that's the reason nobody has a working device. Or like me, CLAIM TO BE working device that has never found anything.
