particular L-rods for treasure hunting?

i was currious out here if anyone has a style of l-rod they swear by to hunt gold and silver with or what just currious on everyones style i have a pair of copper handled and copper rods and work pretty amazing or sense of intelligence behind it or maybe i'm smokin somthin?
