Lightbulb Finding An IC

Hi every one
my metal detector doesn't work . It's Laminous 15000
I found that this " Metal can package IC " doesn't have any voltage
I'm sure it burns...
But I have no clue what it is.
Manufacturers clear the part number of this IC
this is the image of it :
http://aer.net78.net/photos/5b15a3bd8596.jpg
It has 8 bases and "ST" made that
and this is the circuit around it :

Please help

Thanks

Seems some sort of IC op. amplifier used here as Colpitts oscillator.

Probably some of old known op. amp. like this:

But if there is no voltage on it, you must follow voltage rail to find where supply line is broken first.

Hi man, I wonder if your intact metal detector was satisfying? could detect well or not?
would you please put an image of this device box and its' front panel?

Hi guys
This is a picture of Laminous 15000 board
I wana find the IC's
tanrila named some IC's but if you get a look at the pic , They're produced by ST
I want the exact PART NUMBER
my metal detector doesn't detect...
I have to fix it ...
michael , This is not a powerful detector

That's puzzling. PC board rev seemingly dated 2010, but the construction looks 1970's.

I've seen many metal detector PC boards in several different technologies, but looking at that photo it would never occur to me that it's a metal detector. It just plain looks wrong.

If it's a metal detector, you might have better luck over on the Geotech forums. This is the LRL forum, which isn't about metal detectors, it's about dowsing rods with fraudulent electronic stuff added.

Hi Kazem, I know it's not very powerful MD. As I have one Luminous PS14000. of course not weak. It can hardly detect 0ne buried 40cm x 30cm x 20cm iron box at 3 meters with 1m x 1m frame. But for 2 meters targets is good, especially we use smaller loops for scavenging surface trashes to make ready to work with our super powerful metal detector. as another side its' discrimination with 1m x 1m frame is very good.
I have put some of my experiences with that somewhere in this forum some years ago. I will take a look inside the box to see what can find there.
I'm interested to see the box and front panel of device to tell you fact about it. Highly possible it's a fake copy from real "Luminous", and as I see you write "Laminous" that is not correct dictation.
Of course as Dave pointed these discussions related to Geotech forums people there can lead much better. here essentially is only for any type of LRL information.

Thanks Michael, sounds like you're describing a really old conventional pulse induction metal detector. The PC board of which could look like that. Not obvious why the PC board artwork for such a thing would be dated 2010.

I'd been thinking maybe it was not a metal detector at all, but an "LRL transmitter".

Hi Dave. But I don’t think those are old circuits. Mine seems be different than what Kazem showed.
As you see it has 2 circuit board with plenty of ICs that some can’t be recorded on photograph.

Hi guys
I made the mistake about dictation of " Luminous "
Dear michael , would you have a look at your board and give me the part number of your IC's
Manufacturers cleared the part number of my metal detector
and I need to know them ....
thanks
and this is what I have , It's as the same as what you have but maybe for you is stronger...

Hi Kazem. Last night I tried for you. this IC info like yours is scratched and cleaned.
But I think can lead you to somewhere to fix it for you. They are knowledgeable about these MDs or in fact are producers of original "Luminous". If you like let me know to send you PM.

Hi guys
I don't know how " SET " and " TRE " Potentiometer should be set
Please help
I have no Catalog
If you have and you can send it to me , please do that
Thanks

Default Output of my metal detector

Hi guys
I simulated the output of my "Luminous 15000 metal detector"
but I am a little bit confused of output waveforms.
my detector is a "PI detector" and it doesn't work and I wana fix it
"IRF840" is on just for 200usec
Does it mean that my LOOP just search for only 200usec
What I expected to see was that "IRF840" be on for (1-td)
but now it's on for td=200usec
and approximately how much current according to ICs is going to coil(=LOOP)?
Please explain how this part works...
Thanks

Hi.
200us for "On" is ok.
Loop searches few us(10...50) after the Tx signal turns "off".
The current when IRF840 is on depended from the loop resistance. It is some amperes....

Hi Geo
Please explain more for me...
I've read a lot of articles that mentioned that Coil searches in the most time of you pulse
my pulse has a duty cycle of 97%
the coil should be disconnect in the 200us (=3%) and searches in 97%
Am I right?

my frequency is about 130Hz

When Tx signal turns off then after a small delay (10...50us) the loop receive the signal from the objects.
Example.... frequency =100Hz. Tx"on"= 500us Tx off= 9500us. Detector enabled 30us after the Tx signal tuns from on to off. That is all.
