VLF RECEIVER
Hi to all.
I was asking if the vlf rx circuit that i m posting, could it be used for remote sensing, or to take some circuits parts to built another circuit? Regards Nelson |

Hi Nelson.
I believe that the LRL construction is not so simple!!!!! See Mineoro, rangertell, OKm etc. There is a well keeping secret Regards

Nelsons receiver can be used as VLF detector using strong VLF (better to say ULF) transmiters radio signals. Not realy LRL but ULF Rx detector. Most critical part on schematic is antenna. It can not be simple wire or telescopic antenna (these are just meaningless mineoro or rangertell decoration). Antenna have to be directive (better two or even three antennas, mean two or three input stages too) and focussed to positioning small targets to 0,5m in soil. That the antenna at its resonance frequency corresponding to the transmitter frequency is understood. Preferably directive shielded, but no fully RFI shieded like usual MD coils. If one do not want to wound tausants of windings may to use a ferrite rod. This as a starting point. After transmiter selecting some bandpass filter can be added to schematic.

Check out this interesting site. Lots of ulf/vlf receivers circuits and loops for natural and man made signals.

Very well Altra, right things,
read this: http://www.vlf.it/matteobruna/ULF_Induction-Coil.htm this is right way to VLF Rx detector.

I read that article, good stuff. He said it did not work very well. But I think that is because its very directional. Thats good for us!

I think , directional antennas ( coils) more convenient than telescopic aerials for treasure hunting . |

Hola detectoman, me gustaria intercambiar info, sobre receptores vlf, mi e mail:
antonio.agraz.s@gmail.com tengo otra info sobre circuitos similares, si tienes algo para aplicacion en tesoros, me gustaria intercambiar.

Hello Nelson:
yes, may be for this receiver, you need a big ferrite rod, you find in: www.coilws.com www.stormwise.com the low frequency penetrate very good in ground, and if you go to one site with big treasure in ground, you receive a null.

INSPIRE VLF-3 RADIO RECEIVER KIT
Check This VLF RECEIVER!
It's much better than all other VLF receiver found on net (at least for me). http://theinspireproject.org http://uploads.im/f0CMA.png http://uploads.im/Qv4AX.jpg PDF: http://theinspireproject.org/downloa...ionsOnline.pdf http://theinspireproject.org/downloa...Operations.pdf

Antenna
I think ferrite antennas is the best choice for vlf receivers.
Like some at http://stormwise.com But in smaller Size! VERY LOW FREQUENCY ANTENNAS 700 Hz - 10 KHz Data Sheet: http://www.stormwise.com/MUF21-700H-10K-BC.pdf

If you go to Steve McGreevy's website he has some info about his receivers. He says you need a stylist (whip) type antenna and that other antennas won't work for this type of receiver. Now maybe this is just for listening to whistlers, etc. I don't know. But you ought to read what he says before you go out and buy the wrong antenna. Follow the link here, scroll down to "Final Note"
