windows is not cutting edge, its like riding from a bullock to an horse, gone are opcodes...why dont u reverse compile to vb , there is nothing to steal the code, the patents & Copyright are valid for 5 years I think, they need to publish the source code, as some older systems for special applications like scientific ones use win98, win2000, so they need to show theirs...older applications dont run on new XP or so versions, actually chip makers have to integrate an operating system into the cpu during manufacturing, and a provision for updating the OS
