I suppose I asked for that one!

Sorry - had to delete it. If you're wondering what you missed ... ask Rajesh.

Hi Rajesh,

Do you mean that you want to ignore the copper, but to detect all other metal, or you only want to detect copper?

There are some detectors on the market that have notch filters, where selected conductivity ranges can be enabled/disabled. Garrett, for instance, have this feature. You can take a target you want to ignore, and note where it appears on the display. Then simply turn off that particular notch. Alternatively, if you only want to find only that type of target, you can enable that particular notch and turn all the others off.

Have a look here -> http://www.garrett.com/hobby/hbby_gtax550_key.htm
Then click on "VIEW DETECTOR PANEL" on the right. This should make things clear. This detector has 12 notches available. I have an older model (GTAx 1000) and copper shows up on the scale at around #11.

The Whites Prizm has something similar, with 9 notches: http://whites.co.uk/index.php?whiteslocation=uk

Hope this helps.

Hi Rajesh,

I suggest that you post your question here -> http://www.geotech1.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 where others with more intimate knowledge of the HammerHead will see it.

Hi Rajesh,

Is this the BIOS password or the Windows password you've forgotten?

The easiest way is to open the back of the laptop and remove the CMOS battery, and leave it out for several minutes. When you put it back, the BIOS will have been reset.

If this is a more modern laptop, it may have a security chip, and removing the battery will not work. Depending on the chip, you can short together certain pins, and that will reset the BIOS.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

Rajesh,
I think what you gave here is the windows installation key
What is needed is the computer model number.I have successfully unlocked a bios by connecting pins on the (db25) parallel connector and booting. It all depend of model.

Hi,
well... maybe yes... I don't know, it's the software that change that details in unbelivable way.

Anyway, I like her real face more than drawing though it's not so beautiful girl at the end.

Kind regards,
Max

Or it's some ehm... Kremlin pwd ???

that's the key... depends what there is... suppose you have a ...ops... uncommon bootloader... ok... you reset the bios and so remove the password startup check then... you enter bootloader pwd check and that's not so easy in this case...

Uhm... but sure, I think you know how to hijack that kind of gizmoes!

I will run e.g. some ehm... "customized" os and play a bit trying to identify the actual record of system os bootloader... then you could ops... have the pwd problem at os screen level if there is... so other work and other pain... you need some smart things to see it on other ehm... point of views : DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I SAY ?

But... the question IS ... why all that pain ? for what ?

If really interesting stuff one can steal with no pain there with uncommon strategies but why so worried in restoring an hanged system ? Why don't formatting and load everything brand-new from dvds ???

MUST ASK Rajesh I know...

Kind regards,
Max

yes right... but I think some people could be "scared" of shorting pcb tracks during startup... not me , of course!

I made similar "experiments" on some Dell lapthings

With interesting results... like some smoke here and there...
