Downloading Threads

Does anyone know if there are forum archives that can be downloaded, or possibly a way to download a discussion thread and/or all the messages of an entire forum?

I have a long car trip coming up, much of it as a passenger. I thought it would be great to be able to print out all the messages from the beginning of, say the Technology forum, for reading on the trip.

There is an an archive, but you will have to send Carl a message to find out about downloading stuff.

I don't know of a way to do a massive download in vBulletin. You can view a thread, go to Printable view, and save 200 replies at a time to HTML. But you have to do this for each thread.

It is possible to download entire sites and view them offline using software like WebCopier and the like.

But donno how long it would take to download this entire site and the size required.
