Default LRL VS VLF

Good evening guys, are lrl-pd machines exactly the same as a vlf metal detector? if they have a transmitter-receiver coil which one or different between them? Also what is the reason in a lrl to do metal separation? What we are interested in is to catch metals from a distance and not to separate because I believe that a magnetic metal I believe has more chances to be found than a non-magnetic metal like silver and gold. The secret is to catch everything so that we were sure it's a long range machine. Trying to make a long range separation I think is wrong because in reality we can not do it with a simple metal detector will we do it with an lrl? Sorry for my English.
