But does it work if you keep the "detector" still and wave the gold chain in front of the antennae?

If not, then this thread should be in the Dowsing & Passive Locators Forum. As it appears to have a swivel handle, then I suspect it's really just a dowsing contraption.

Not rotate the handle, only the antennas, the cable is because I did not want to have bluetooth connectivity between mobile devices and

OK - maybe the handle doesn't swivel, but the antennae do. In which case it's basically a dowsing rod with some attached electronics.
