I think you are correct. This locator is advertised to find underground pipes, not to find buried treasure. From what I read, it is one of the best locators for underground pipes that will work alone or with a signal generator to find even non-metallic pipes. But they don't say it will find treasure. I also see no LRLs that people are saying always find the treasure from long range. I hear only stories that in some conditions people report finding treasures with their LRL locators. From all that I read, I wonder if the C.Scope 33XD can work better than most LRLs? Think about it... The C scope 33XD can find underground pipes, and can find metallic or non-metallic pipes when using a signal generator. Isn't this the same kind of equipment that some LRLs are made from? Can the C scope 33XD locate a iron box buried from a long distance more than 10 metres? Who knows? Has anyone tried? The difference between the C scope and LRLs is the C scope has been shown to always work for finding pipes. The price for the C Scope 33XD is only £510, not £5000 or £8000. Maybe it will work for finding treasure as well as a more expensive LRL? Best wishes, J_P |

J_P it work on different way not only by use external generator. It can work by existing radio stations too (look at picture). This is real working LRL as we discussed as only possible (for us amateur) in thread: http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16216

You get several modes for external signals and a mode that works to locate buried metal when there is no external signal. You can use your own signal generator, or tune some radio station, and you can read the signal strength to verify the signal is there before locating buried metal. And best of all, the electronics inside are real. No fake circuits. Why buy an LRL with no guarantee to find anything when for only £510 you get a machine that is guaranteed to work, and has all these real electronic circuits? Best wishes, J_P |
