I don't understand the reasoning of the length of the coil being 32 times the diameter?

The original info I got had 32x but I see now it says wire length is 64 x the length of the center core conductor.

Been thinking about these rods and I don't see much need for pure copper. I found some 3/16" x .014" (4.76 mm x .355 mm) brass tubing and some 5/32" (3.96 mm) brass rod for the handle. I have some thin magnet wire don't know the gauge but it's thin, maybe too thin to work with, but it would be much lighter weight. Probably will not be able to match his 64x.
