If not, then this thread should be in the Dowsing & Passive Locators Forum. As it appears to have a swivel handle, then I suspect it's really just a dowsing contraption.

OK - maybe the handle doesn't swivel, but the antennae do. In which case it's basically a dowsing rod with some attached electronics.

The good thing is that it does not catch rust

May be it does in somebody elses hands.
