Hello,

anyone know anything about this Chinese detector?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Long-Range-M...50994972839%26 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Long-Range-Metal-Detector-DiggerGround-Search-Treasure-Hunter-ArchaeologyPU500/271255771582?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D17153%26meid%3D503980981538434434%26pid%3D1 00011%26prg%3D8016%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D15099 4972839%26)

Thank's in advance.

Looks like a common detector, nothing to do with "long range".
Search google for "PU 400" or "PU 500".
Even on Ebay it can found cheaper from different sellers...

It's definitely not a common detector. You can tell by the reference to "Forward Gauss technology", and the claimed detection range of 5m and depth of 5m. It also states: "The system includes an installed, rechargeable gel cell battery with charger, transmitting antenna, receiving rods and receiver ...".
Please note the the words "receiving rods". I suspect this device sits directly on the ground, and the user wanders around it with some dowsing rods.

Other clues are the claims that it can detect jewels (no ordinary metal detector can do that) and the six LEDs on the front panel to indicate the detected element. These are all clear indications that it belongs here in the LRL forum.

George, the description of the item, is a (fraud) mix of the actual device spec's and a copy-paste from some random "long range" site (Vernell Electronics and Chinese copies).

I agree with Bill, this looks like an ordinary metal detector (in a funky package) with a bunch of LRL BS attached to it. They did it again here:

which is very obviously a crappy Chinese metal detector. As I said on Geotech, no one in their right mind sells an LRL for $299 when there are plenty of Gullibillies eager to pay 10 times that much.

It looks like you're both correct. I hadn't seen the second eBay link.
Either way, it's a scam that should be avoided.
A total of 6 items traded with a feedback score of 87.5% is a big warning sign.

Agreed. There's this gullible from Oregon, Carlie Moreland who paid over a thousand bucks to buy a Mineoro FG80 to detect electric dog fences 'cause he 'theenks' that it cannot find gold.

LRL industry just love fellas like that and their peculiar and innovative ways of using their devices.

Thank you about your replies and help.

Yes it look like cheap copy-paste in the description of the detector, because initially writes 5m detecting range and then 3m,ultrasonic frequency:400-3000Mhz e.t.c.

From the figure look like two box metal detector,to the indication panel side should be located the transmitter and to the other side the receiver.

And ofcourse is more cheap than the price his web-site,thank's Bill512 for the link:
