Some time ago I built an electrostatic detector similar to the Zahori type and it is taking up space in my lab so I decided to offer it to anyone who wants to experiment with it. No guarantees. It does detect static charge very well, has a sensitivity control and on and off switch. Uses 2 9 volt batteries. No returns.

Goldfinder - I don't know how you attempted to load the image, but it resulted in an enormous list of character codes, but no image.

Ok so if you built a wooden case for this, where would you connect the black wire soldered to the outer metal case “is the metal case acting as earth or aerial?”

The copper plate is the antenna ground plane. The copper rod is the red wire and electrostatic antenna.

Remember the idea is to detect charges/ions coming from buried treasure.

Hi Morgan,

You say that the metal box should be changed for a wooden one.

As I remember reading on one of your threads that timber is a good insulator, and stops signal interference from outside interfering with the circuit boards inside the machine “is that right”

What I am wondering is why do you not use a wooden box for your PDK if this is true?

you not read one of my threads where i talk about that, this is becouse wood box more dificult to build and expensive, inside my PDK devices the coils and circuits are placed in a wooden plate.
