Something I noticed in the description of each of these locators, the advertising is making claims that are probably true, such as "2 MHz", "12V Transducer", "all controls are clearly identified", etc.
But there are also a lot of claims made that seem doubtful....
"can scan and search up to and over 1+ miles for a specific metal or mineral", and similar claims for other locators.

Take a look at what they say for the model 2008:

Many years have been spent experimenting with various theories, ideas, and devices to develop this small , but powerful transmitter capable of transmitting Radio Frequency (RF) signals through the soil over a considerable distance. The emitted signal is induced into the soil in an omni-directional pattern of 360°. It is because of this induced energy that makes the targets visible. This induced RF (Radio Frequency) energy from the transmission line interacts with the LC (Inductive- Capacitance) of the operator's circuit. The normal response at that point is that the Rods will be attracted to each other. This process actually conveys to the operator that the desired target is within range of the Scanner.
Half of what they say is true -- things like: "Many years have been experimenting with various theories, ideas and devices".
But what does it mean when they say "Small, but powerful transmitter capable of transmitting Radio Frequency over a considerable distance"?
-- This is true only if you consider they don't say how powerful, or how much distance they are calling considerable.

The fact is they cannot sell an RF transmitter to the general public that can send out RF signals of more than 100 milliwatts power.
And since the RF is sent to a ground probe, it cannot broadcast a usable signal a hundred feet or so like normal 100 MW transmitter antennas that are held above the ground.
If their ground probe oscillator is an un-amplified 555 timer, then we can expect it to work identically to Dell's old model 800 Omnitron.
If it has an amplifier, then the power is limited to 100 MW. All we know is it is an oscillator powered by a 9V battery that was intended as an electronic signal generator for test equipment (usually 5v).

Then they claim a 360 degree omnidirectional pattern?
I doubt it.
The directional pattern depends on where the ground probe and transmitter is placed as well as the ground mineral anomalies, and will definitely show a much weaker transmission than if the antenna were arranged in the air as a proper antenna.
What is strange is only one ground probe is used to "broadcast" the signal in the ground, and several "receiver probes" that are placed in the ground are not connected to anything.

As we read on, they say "It is because of this induced energy that makes the targets visible".
What?
Visible to the electronics if the target is within a few cm of the ground probes?

The entire description began with some questionable premises, then added some exaggerated advertising claims of power and range of the transmitter, and finished with some false information about the propagation of the RF signals. It seems this advertising propaganda is designed to fool people who have little understanding of the electronics so they will believe it is high tech science and great equipment.
And worse, the false information serves to teach pseudoscience to people who don't have the technical education to know better.
I wonder why Kellyco would allow this misleading advertising in their catalog.

Maybe this is why the spelling was changed above to say Scam-master
...and maybe this is why someone in Greece is trying to sell his machine on ebay.
