I've been visiting the site above for more than 12 years. It's amazing how only now you discovered it. Maybe you'll know my secrets?:lol:
By the way the gradiometer was covered here already as gold sensor.

Yes, you can try. In this field the only option is try and see response, but seems interesting. You have here 2 gains pots. Maybe is better preadjust alls with presets and leave in well compromise/stability. But you can't see small variations with the microamps, you need output beeps generator. When you find a device very sensitive wich movements on air don't produce falses, but detect old buried good conductive metals, well you're right.

It is not amazing and it is not strange. So far i focused only on conventional metal detectors. Recently i decided to pay a bit more attention on magnetometers and gradiometers technology. Searching the internet i just founded it.
It is sort of differential amplifier. Yes it is gonna work and detect some differences in static potentials. Yet i dont see connection between that and detecting burried metals!? Not clear to me yet...
Ok....each step at the time....
I just dont want to see same behavior as with Zahori.
Will discuss this more in future...

"Beep generator" is not a problem to add. That one from Zahori could also be used here...

I started to think different way here....pretty experimental design is in progress. I can only post part of schematic... Not completed yet.
Main idea is to use cylindric coils (simillar to FGM..) and adjust those in proper axis. Hold it low to soil surface and observe soil static changes (simillar, yet not the same as magnetometer)....
This is only "wild" experiment, not made and tested yet.
So...here is part of schematic already done...

"Beep generator" is not a problem to add. That one from Zahori could also be used here...
I prefer pass the output of preamp to beep gen. stage with not polarized capacitors for to blocking DC. The detection occurs by a kind of impulse (as AC), so for this purpose you need blocking some small residual DC voltage.

Maybe a good modification to do it to work as LRL:). It is sure that near the buried objects there is a electrostatic field, i dont know if it is strong or not, but there is:). So maybe it is time to try it again:):)

Why you are so sure there exist a static electric field ? :???:
And also... it's in your thoughts about all buried stuff or just old/ancient buried ?

Hi Max.
I saw a lot of anomalies near old or ancient buried so i am sure that there is a electrostatic field (maybe something else that i can't explain:frown::frown:).
But i never saw it on a instrument.....:(:(
