Please take a look on the Spindle message boards to see my personal challenge to Carl.

Here is the challenge made by "Leadfoot". It was originally for my $25,000, with Leadfoot offering to put up his own $25,000 should he fail. About 3 hours after the first post, Leadfoot decided to double the amount to $50,000.
This exchange was originally posted on the Spindle forum, but a large part of that forum, including this entire thread, was mysteriously wiped out.

I found the premise for his challenge to be reasonable, and was willing to work out a protocol we could agree on:

For some reason, Dale Newman felt obligated to reply for Leadfoot. Notice the sudden emergence of a particular piece of property in Nevada:

And, apparently, Dale does speak for Leadfoot, "since we are on the same page as others." Eh? Could it be? Could someone else be driving this "challenge"?

I formally accepted his challenge, limited to the $25,000 prize I have available, and subject to an agreeable protocol:

Leadfoot believed my $25,000 limit was a balk at his challenge. He also seems to believe the $25,000 I offer is not my own money. He now mentions the possibility that he will insist on $75,000, which would probably happen were I to agree to $50,000.

I reiterated my acceptance, subject to a $25,000 limit:

Leadfoot continues to make the challenge amount the primary issue. And, he almost answers some of my questions about the test:

Now Leadfoot insists that I place my money in some account for 2 years. This "challenge" is looking very fluid:

Though I have not included all of the extraneous chatter that was in this thread, I found this post to be especially rational:

I would think it would be to your advantage to propose a deal that Carl could not refuse...
It should be obvious to anyone reading this thread, that the purpose of Leadfoot's "challenge" is exactly the opposite of this.
Most likely, the people who planned this "challenge" assumed I would decline, and they could all pat each other on the backs for a job well done. Ol' Carl has been put in his place. Problem is, the premise of the proposed test is fine with me. Since I've accepted, the strategy has shifted to that of erecting barriers, and to blame me for the barriers.
Ferinstance, when the amount demanded of me was $25,000:
"The third party shall also hold the $25k funds from the two parties involved during the day of the test when both parties shall arive with the said funds."
Now the demand is $50,000, and suddenly it must be placed in an account for 2 years*:
"The $50k from both parties shall be placed into an interest bearing account ON THE DAY of the burial/hiding. Winner takes the $100k plus the interest in 2 years."
This requirement is just plain silly, and only serves to demonstrate the disingenuous nature of Leadfoot and his challenge.
The funny thing is, in my own challenge, I make no financial demands of the challengee, at all. I put my own $25,000 up against their claims, and nothing else. If I win, I win nothing. If I lose, I win knowledge.
I will extend that concept to Leadfoot's challenge, and suggest that he may pledge $50,000 if he wishes, or $0. I don't really care. I'll go even further and state that, should Leadfoot choose to pledge money, and he fails to demonstrate his claimed ability, I will accept none of his money, and will designate the American Red Cross as the beneficiary.
So, Leadfoot, once again... If you are the least bit serious about this challenge, then quit wasting my time and proceed. My pledge is $25,000, and I will bring it on the day of the test. If that doesn't work for you, it's your problem, not mine.

I disagree with Little_Bear, Leadfoot and Newman are not confident in their equipment. They are full of BB's (Bluster and Bad mouth.) There's an old saying that goes something like "if you can't blind them with brilliance. then baffle them with bulls**t." Sounds to me like these two are full of the latter.

Ha,ha,ha...
FERF on my nERF! I want to be a third party in Your
thing. It is simple. Both sides send me xxx.000$ for
3 and more years.I am gonna keep it so secure that
U can not imagine.Better than Fort Knox!I have even
better idea, those Au bars U want to hide, give to me
and I'll hide for good!No such detector or LRL can
find them ever.Even NASA project from space can not
find what I am able to hide!
Now serious.I maybe do not have right to tamper in
Your ruffle but this is forum so ....
Only thing I noticed about "old" metals in the
ground is a sort of ionic field around them. The
proof is the fact that many times I founded for
example a roman arrow in the ground, deep 35cm...
(remember that it was there for over 1000 years...)
once I dig it, the very same detector with the very
same presets could'nt find it over 15cm in the air!
Why is that so!? Well,I guess because ionic field
splash at once U dig it and take on the fresh air.
The same thing happen with old coins and other stuff.
I am not scientist and can not explain that more
detailed. So much from me about FERF or whatever.
About LRL....hmmm...in my 20 and more years dealing
with metal detectors and prospecting I have been seen
more LRL lunatics, mountebanks and charlatans than
U can imagine.None of them ever persuade...convince
me ever in that thing called LRL.For example let's
take the "famous" Electroscope series of LRL's...
Ha,ha,ha...what a joke!? The output of XR2206 is so
weak that it can transmit a few kHz signal a few
milimetres away from the pike of that funny telescopic
(FM suitable) antena. That antena is another "bijou" in
the ES stuff! If U calculate a size of antena for..let's
say, 5kHz, U get a result, an fact that antena should be
60 000 metres- 60km long!!!Now, what to say more!?
And even if that fuuny device transmit any signal, where
is the receiver??? With what U can receive, and what
are U receiving with Electroscope or simillar, when U
have a device without any receiving part!???
Maybe telepatic or what? I am ready rather to beleive
in old Egyptian odds.Infront of my eyes nobody ever
find anything with that method in last 20 years!
Those devices and methods are pure SF!I am very pissed off
when see advertisments on those devices and their prices
some 600,900....2000$ !!!!!Only idiot can buy that!
that's all folks!Regards!
P.S.
My offer from the start of this txt is still on!
P.S. II
Just one story:
Last summer I met an dowsing idiot Who claimed that
he can "fill" a metal in the ground any depth and distance
with a telephone cable rolled on his head!!!Even one very
good constructor(I liked his project till than)beleived
in this story!I also met another dowsing idiot Who used
some plant root(with "magical power")to dowse!!!
But those two idiots are less idiots than buyers of LRL's,
because they saved money, at least!(telephone cable and
stupid plant are not expensive).
I also dowse...with Garret GTI2500,Pulsestar II,Cscope 1220
and my handmade and very magical Classic III !
Regards folks and sorry on my emotional offset....
I guess i have to change a telephone cable
on my head...it leaks!
..........Huh!
Buy the way , that Leadfoot guy or what ever his name is,
I can find and sell to him at bargain price very powerfull
plant root for dowsing and a very special ancient Egypt-
telephone cable as a gift with plant.25 ooo$ is nothing
he says. Then why do not he put that "nothing" in some huamnitarian
fund, for hungry children or something else? I bet that he never
had more than a few 000 $ in his small, funny LRL life!
I am confused of
so dirty language he has on the other forum!?He provoke and
provoke.....Anybody can censure him? Is there any censure
on forum?First taking money from naive people and after
that spiting on the people Who's telling the truth!?
Oh, somebody should stop me! ....I am so pissed reading
those clusters from other forum, U, Carl put here, that I am
risking too, to be rude...
Now is end...regards!

Hi ivconic,
It seems too difficult for either of us to leave this subject alone.http://thunting.com/geotech/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Oh what fun! The magic of psuedoscience...
Anyway - it is quite well known that items buried in the ground present a larger target to a metal detector than newly buried items, as you have found from personal experience. I have also noticed this many times. But this has nothing to do with ionic fields or any other undiscovered scientific principle.
It is simple chemical leeching into the soil that creates the "halo". There's probably a scientific term for this, but I don't know what it's called.
By the way - regarding the "Long Distance Negative Ions Detector" you posted - very interesting design. I'm waiting to see if anyone builds it.
Keep up the bashing... http://thunting.com/geotech/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well.. following goes a little bit further than just dowsing.. :)
Anyone hunted treasures in astral dimension, out of body -experience or using remote viewing? :) Might be interesting. What would etheric field of treasure look like from astral dimension?
More talking about astral travelling..
